Make sure your Windows is Genuine and activated:
In an earlier statement made during the Windows 10 hype, Microsoft promised that Windows 10 can be installed on PC with a pirated copy of the earlier versions as well. That plan never came into existence. Thus, in order to proceed to the upgradation, your pc must have a genuine and activated version of Windows 7 installed. You can check it on the Computer properties. Right-click on the My device/Computer option and then select the Properties. You will be able to see whether you have an activated version or not. Back Up your PC:

Select Upgrade this PC now to begin the upgrade process and then click Next. Once you select this option, your download will start downloading the necessary Windows 10 files. The time of download depend upon your internet speed.
Once the downloading of necessary files complete, a license agreement term will appear on your screen. Click Accept and the installer will do a final update check before initiating the upgradation process.
